Definition: Browncoats
Fans of the cancelled TV series Firefly; from creator Joss Whedon.

Explaination: Askew
Fans of writer/director Kevin Smith; in reference to his production company View Askew.

What the fuck made you combine them?
We're a group of fans, from all over the world, who met on Kevin Smith's official message board, and in talking to one another determined that we had more than just Kevin's work in common. We all happened to also be "Browncoats" and thus the BCA was born. Please note that Kevin Smith has admittedly seen neither Firefly nor Serenity, but he is aware of the BCA presence, as we congregate on his message board. As for Joss, I have no idea if he knows we exist.

So do you like... hang out and shit?
We have thus far had one very successful BCA shindig/meetup, with many more to come in the future, I hope. The minute we get together there is some serious deep dicking going on.

What's with the logo?
On the left is Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) and on the right is Malcom Reynolds (Nathan Fillion). Both figures are the proverbial "captains" of each fandom.

Oh, snap! That shit is cool, but why can't I get that logo on a t-shirt?
Sadly, Cafepress as a distributor thinks the logo has too much copyrighted material, and we can't get away with printing the likenesses of Silent Bob and Mal. So other logos were created that did not violate the terms of service.

Can I be a BCA?
If you really consider yourself to be a Browncoat, and you are enough of a Kevin Smith fan to post or lurk his message board, then I would say yes. If you don't know Book's first name, or who "Finger Cuffs" is, then no.

So what else should I know about you fucking freaks?
We're not even supposed to be here today, but no power in the 'verse can stop us. Noonch.
